Shifting

This is all brand new, yet oddly familiar at the same time. Fun fact, I had a blog for a little while in 2021 – unfortunately, life was life-ing at the time and I fell off. But now I’m back and I’m better - better because I’m different and I’m not alone. God has been doing A LOT in my life and I’m blessed to have the opportunity to share.

Starting over can sometimes feel like a painful reminder of past failures but you can choose a different perspective. Instead of seeing the past attempt as a failure, you can choose to find the lesson. Your perspective is your choice, and there’s so much power in choice. You may have heard it said that perspective is reality. I think this is true. Our choices can transform our reality. How we choose to view our circumstances will greatly impact the way we experience them.

This is why the bible reminds us in Philippians 4:8, “Finally, believers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable and worthy of respect, whatever is right and confirmed by God's word, whatever is pure and wholesome, whatever is lovely and brings peace, whatever is admirable and of good repute; if there is any excellence, I there is anything worthy of praise, think continually on these things [center your mind on them, and implant them in your heart].

I’ve shifted my thinking and it’s shifting my life.

I have learned that we don’t have to wait for things to literally change for things to be different. If I cannot change the things around me I can submit myself to be changed, and the things around me will begin to look different. What was once a burden can suddenly become a blessing. What was once dingy and old can be washed through a cycle of renewed thoughts and become vibrant again. Change can be triggered by just changing your mind.

This post marks the beginning of a documented journey, though the journey has already begun. I’m stepping out on faith and making a public commitment to the new thing springing up.

Isaiah 43:19 - Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.

Initially, a large portion of this process began as a whim until it became a tool for me. Now I want to be a resource for others. Not because I have not arrived or I’m walking in a new title, but simply because I’m walking in a new authority. My platform launching isn’t the only new thing happening. My entire being – personality, confidence, voice – is changing. As I’m encountering more of Him, more of the old me is dying and there are new signs of life.

Pray with me -

Father, we praise you for being God even in our transitions. You are not caught off guard by any of the unpredictableness of life. You are the author of our stories. You are the master strategist who does all things well. Father, I pray that as we - your children - walk with you, you help us to know it's okay to start over. We come against all tormenting thoughts of the past and release your children to try again. Teach us how to view things like you do. Renew our thinking. Remove the scales from our eyes so we don’t miss what you’re doing. Give us wisdom, understanding, and a pure perspective.

In Jesus’ name, amen.
